A Town Hall Meeting
on
Marriage Equality
South Bay Alliance sponsored event |
“The Get Engaged Town Hall Meeting” has been CANCELED due to the July 4th Holiday weekend, please keep your eyes open for future events being held around town next month, or get involved by getting more information from San Diego Alliance for Marriage Equality at: www.samealliance.org or San Diego Equality Now at: www.sdequalitynow.org .”
Help determine the next steps of the statewide movement by voicing your opinions and concerns regarding a variety of issues: when do we go back to the ballots? what language will we use? and who will run the next campaign?
Start this conversation on July 1rst with South Bay Alliance! All marriage equality supporters should come and bring their allies! Fernando Lopez from Marriage Equality USA will present polling data that was commissioned by a statewide coalition of organizations working on marriage equality. This internal polling is being shared with our community so that everyone is informed in making decisions on what worked well and what we need to do differently this next time around.
Your input will be relayed to the statewide conference and YOU all will have a chance to speak and give your thoughts! This is a meeting where we want to hear from you in the community about how to make a better campaign as we go back to the ballots on marriage equality to win.

Besides organizing social events, South Bay Alliance also provides you with a centralized source of on-line LGBT information. Our "Be Heard" page gives you a listing of both local and national political resources while our "Resource" page provides local and national listing of LGBT organizations. The "Drug Facts" and "Health Info" give you infromation and resources to address issues affecting the community. In addition, our "Members Only" section provides you with with our newsletters & updates that keep you in touch with the current local area political issues and event updates as well as access to our members directory, discussion form, additonal resources, and event calender.
Using the 2005 American Community Survey for the San Diego metropolitan area, the South Bay area has at least 17,000 LGBT residents! South Bay Alliance is building a listing of businesses and organizations that are LGBT friendly and support building community in the South Bay.
